BabyBel cheese manufacturers have just launched six new vegan cheeses
In April, the French dairy company Bel Brands will launch its own vegan cheese line Nurishh at Amazon Fresh and select retailers. Further distribution is planned for this year. The new cheeses will be available in six flavors and two formats: mozzarella, provolone and cheddar slices as well as scraps of mozzarella, cheddar and mozzarella / cheddar mix. The development of the new cheeses was led by Bel Brand’s cheese-making know-how to restore the properties of milk cheese – such as meltability and taste – using plant-based ingredients fortified with vitamin B12 and calcium.
“Eating plays a huge role in maintaining happy and healthy moments, as simply sharing a meal has the power to bring families together,” said Florian Decaux, director of vegetable acceleration at Bel Brands. “Nurishh can help you create dishes that bring everyone to the table – like a perfectly melted grilled cheese or a delicious cheesy pizza.”
Vegan BabyBel cheese?
While Nurishh is Bel Brand’s first all-vegetable line, the company plans to introduce additional vegan cheese products to modernize its portfolio. Last year, Bel Brands announced that it is also developing dairy-free versions of its core cheese brands, including BabyBel snack cheeses (expected to be launched in the US by the end of the year), The Laughing Cow cheese wedges, and more. Bel Group has already delivered on its promise by launching a plant-based version of its garlic and herb-flavored Boursin cheese spread – a product developed with the help of cult vegan brand Follow Your Heart.
