Easy, cheesy vegan French bread pizza


Swap toppings in this simple, straightforward pizza recipe from the Simple vegan comfort food Cookbook according to your wishes. Try vegan sausage crust, mushrooms, buffalo cauliflower, and a dash of vegan ranch.

What you need:

1 (16-ounce) loaf of French bread
1 cup of pizza sauce
2 cups of grated vegan mozzarella cheese, divided
½ paprika, thinly sliced
½ sweet onion, thinly sliced
⅓ cup of pitted, sliced ​​green olives
½ teaspoon dried oregano

What you are doing:

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Halve French bread horizontally and place both pieces with the cut side up on a baking sheet with a rim. Spread the pizza sauce evenly on both pieces of bread and use as much sauce as desired. Spread 1¾ cup of cheese over both halves of the bread. Add the peppers, onion, and green olives evenly, then sprinkle the remaining cheese and oregano on top.
  3. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, turning the baking sheet in half from front to back, until the bread is crispy and the cheese has melted.
