Eat only to bring the French-style vegan egg cakes to market nationwide

Startup in California in March Just eat launches a range of vegan JUST Egg Sous Vide bites in select grocery stores across the country. The new egg bites are made using the sous vide cooking method (a French term that means “under vacuum”), which involves vacuum sealing food and cooking it at a low temperature. The mung bean-based JUST Egg Sous Vide canapes will be available in four world cuisine-inspired flavors: America (fried potato, dill, chives, red paprika and black pepper); India (curry, broccoli, cauliflower, coconut milk and lemongrass); Japan (portabello mushrooms, yams, togarashi, soy and tamari); and Mexico (roasted poblano peppers, chipotle chili powder, black beans, corn, and lime). The new vegan egg bites are sold frozen in packs of four and can be cooked in an oven, toaster or microwave.

To get started, Eat Just has partnered with Cuisine Solutions, Inc., the world’s leading manufacturer and distributor of Sous-Vide foods, who will develop and produce vegan Sous-Vide Egg Bites worldwide. “The Cuisine Solutions team is the best in the world at what they do,” said Josh Tetrick, Co-Founder and CEO of Eat Just. “We partnered with them because they have unparalleled expertise and leadership in the Sous-Vide Industry and are committed to making our food system even better. We’re excited that consumers can try what we’ve been working on. ”

International Sous Vide Day
The partnership was announced on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of modern sous vide cooking technology, which was developed by Cuisine Solutions and its chief scientist Dr. Bruno Goussault, PhD, widely recognized as the father of modern day sous vide, was popularized. Eat Just enters the arena during this year’s International Sous-Vide Day celebration on January 26th, which features world-renowned chefs attending cooking demonstrations and panel discussions about the Sous-Vide technique. Tetrick and Felipe Hasselmann, President and CEO of Cuisine Solutions, will attend the Sous Vide Day celebration with a discussion on changing consumer habits and the development of the global food system.

“Josh’s vision for the future of plant-based foods is extremely inspiring and also very closely linked to the vision of Cuisine Solutions. Both organizations seek to influence and revolutionize the food industry on a daily basis, which makes this partnership such a natural one. Said Hasselmann. “There are very few food companies in the world who can match the culinary innovation capabilities of Cuisine Solutions’ research and development. Eat Just has the same DNA when it comes to being open to future-oriented, innovative ideas and developments. We are very excited to offer our customers the best Sous Vide Egg Bites on the market, made from the best plant-based eggs. “

Vegan eggs for everyone
In addition to the new Sous Vide appetizers, Eat Just offers its vegan egg based on mung beans in liquid and folded formats. Since JUST Egg was launched in April 2019, the company has sold the vegan equivalent of 80 million chicken eggs. JUST Egg is also available in a growing number of restaurants around the world, including the recent launch at China’s major fast food chain Dicos, which replaced the chicken eggs it previously served with the mung bean-based product in seven menu items in early January.
