Vegan meat company based in St. Louis, MO Hungry planet Recently, around 900 boxes of plant-based meat were donated to nonprofits such as the St. Louis Food Share Network and the St. Louis Animal Rights Team. The donations were part of Hungry Planet’s mission to combat food insecurity in the community and improve personal and planetary health.
The company donated its vegan beef patties, chipotle chicken patties, crab cakes, and ground Italian sausage to its two nonprofits. Food was distributed during the St. Louis Food Share Network’s Food Drive on February 24th and March 3rd at the Thomas Dunn Learning Center in St. Louis. These food rides are held on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays to feed unsafe people during the COVID-19 pandemic. The St. Louis Animal Rights team will serve the donated meat in a variety of locations including outreach events such as Earth Day and the Taste of St. Louis Vegan Fest.
“This sizeable donation from Hungry Planet was enormous for us,” said Casey Stinemetz, organizer of the Food Share Network. “Not only did we hand out plant-based meat to over 100 attendees at our weekly grocery share, but we shared the excess with our network of churches, nonprofits, and individuals across the St. Louis area. Many thanks to Hungry Planet for supporting the community. “
