Intelligentsia has just launched a 100% vegan RTD latte line with oats
Chicago-based coffee brand Intelligentsia is entering the ready-to-drink (RTD) category with a range of fully vegan beverages. In 2016, the brand was the first American company to offer oat milk as an option in its coffee shops – and oat milk now makes up 13 percent of Intelligentsia’s beverage orders. In order to give customers what they want, Intelligentsia launched its RTD line of two oat-based lattes (Oat Latte and Spiced Oat Latte with notes of vanilla, ginger, cinnamon and orange) and Cold Brew Coffee. “One thing we said during the process of making our ready-to-drink drinks was that we didn’t want to bring drinks to market just to keep up with everyone else. We wanted to enter this category with great offerings that showcase Intelligentsia’s commitment to quality, ”said James McLaughlin, CEO of Intelligentsia Coffee.
Intelligentsia’s first line of RTDs is now available online from the brand website and at coffee bars in Boston, MA; Chicago, Illinois; Los Angeles, California; and New York City, NY for $ 3.99 per 11-ounce tetra pack.
Vegan latte for everyone
Intelligentsia’s new lattes aren’t the only oat milk-based RTD options on the market. In September 2019, the coffee brand La Colombe launched its RTD oat milk latte in its 30 cafés and at selected retailers, before the latte made from Chobani’s oat milk and available in original, vanilla and caramel flavors at 1,500 Target stores last year expanded.
