Oatly has just launched its first line of vegan cream cheese in the UK
Swedish brand this week oats launched its first line of cream cheese based on oat milk in the UK. The brand’s brand new Creamy Oat Spread is available in Tomato & Basil, Cucumber & Garlic and Plain flavors from retail chain Tesco and select Sainsbury’s locations. Oatly is also meeting consumer demand for vegan whipped cream with the launch of Whippable Creamy Oat, a heavy cream made from oat milk, available from the same retailers along with the new cream cheese line.
Oatly launched the new products as they are and as cooking ingredients for dishes such as cheesecake with whipped cream. “This opens up the potential for a multitude of new plant-based recipes and meals for our consumers. We are increasingly looking for ways to give people a great alternative for the entire cooking process, ”said Ishen Paran, General Manager of Oatly UK. “We want to make it as easy as possible for people to make the plant-based switch without having to forego the taste or missing out on their favorite dishes. By developing new, high quality products that are versatile, we can accomplish our mission of helping people consume more herbal products that are more environmentally friendly. ”
Oats in the USA
The Swedish brand first became known in the United States around 2017 in coffee shops in New York City. Since then, the brand has launched several products in the United States, including a line of vegan oat milk-based ice cream and yogurt in a variety of flavors. Oatly reportedly plans to go public this year and could raise up to $ 1 billion through its IPO.
