Papa John’s vegan pizza now has a cheesy filled crust option in the UK
On January 18th, international pizza chain Papa Johns will be launching a vegan filled crust pizza on their menu across the UK. Papa Johns UK has been offering vegan “Sheese” from Bute Island Foods since January 2019 and has since launched a variety of vegan pizzas and starters. The new vegan cheese-filled crust pizza is available in sizes from medium to XXL and costs an additional £ 2.75. Before introducing the vegan filled crust option, Papa Johns also had Not-Chicken Vegan Bites and The Alice Tai, a vegan pizza created by Paralympic gold medalist Alice Tai. The latter has a thin crust with vegan sausage, mushrooms, tomatoes, corn, onions and black olives.
“We are very happy to be adding the new vegan products to our menu at the beginning of 2021. With recipe innovation at the core of the brand, we are proud to continue our commitment to vegan products with the introduction of Not-Chicken Vegan Bites and Vegan Stuffed Crust, ”said Giles Codd, Marketing Director of Papa John. “We also really enjoyed working with one of our Paralympic Ambassadors, Alice Tai, to create a limited edition plant-based pizza – another menu addition that we expect to be a huge hit with pizza lovers across the country. ”
Vegan at Papa John
While the chain’s locations in the US have not yet modernized their menus, Papa John’s has expanded its menus to include vegan options worldwide, including in Chile (where the vegan royal pizza with Follow Your Heart and “NotMeat” from Chilean startup The will not be company); Spain (where it offers the Papa John’s Green menu of two pizzas); Costa Rica (which has a Follow Your Heart pizza with Vegan Green and Beyond Meat with Beyond Green pizza); and the Netherlands (where vegan jackfruit-based peppers are offered).
