RuPaul’s Vegan Drag Star is partnering with the Mayor of London to help reopen the city’s restaurants
British vegan drag queen Bimini Bon-Boulash – a contestant in the second season of the reality television competition RuPaul’s Drag Race UK– Recently worked with London Mayor Sadiq Khan on the Let’s Do London campaign to help boost the capital’s economy as COVID-19 restrictions are lifted. The £ 6 million campaign will run year-round, bringing together London’s hospitality, culture, nightlife and retail outlets to promote the city as a major tourist destination in the world.
Bon-Boulash met London Mayor Sadiq Khan for brunch at Mildreds vegan restaurant in London on the day London officially lifted its food restrictions. Bon-Boulash and Khan were the restaurant’s first diners since it reopened. Over brunch, they discussed the importance of helping restaurants and bars, especially queer venues, to reopen these stores. Bon-Boulash posted a photo of himself with Khan on Twitter. “London is open again, baby,” said Bon-Boulash tweeted. “I have teamed up with @MayorofLondon to get London’s tourism and hospitality industry back on its feet.”
Promoting vegan options in London
Khan too Posted about the brunch meeting on Twitter: “Great to round off today’s London Eats tour with @BiminiBabes at @MildredsLondon. In case you missed the memo, they’re vegan! #LetsDoLondon ”Khan launched the“ Let’s Do London ”campaign with a London Eats tour to celebrate and promote the chefs, restaurants and eateries in the city’s gastronomy.
Bon-Boulash also participated in the campaign by making announcements through speakers on the subway network recommending her favorite restaurants and places to eat in Camden Lock.
