You won’t miss the seafood at Matthew Kenney’s New Vegan Restaurant

Renowned vegan chef and restaurateur Matthew Kenney will open a new plant-based restaurant on July 2nd Liora in Baltimore, MD. Located on the city’s historic Inner Harbor, Liora offers upscale, vegan, classic Baltimore cuisine with dishes like crab cakes (celery root tartar sauce and Old Bay seasoning). BBQ Pit Beets (macaroni and cheese served with Kimchi Slaw); Crab salad (palm hearts served with avocado and goddess dressing); and creamy king oyster stew. The menu also features a selection of classic Matthew Kenney dishes like cacio e pepe with seaweed noodles.

“When we enter a new market, our goal is to offer our guests our classic dishes while introducing new ideas that are influenced by local products, local culture and culinary influences,” Kenney told VegNews.

Working with Liora, Kenney will open his fourth location for Double Zero, an upscale pizzeria that first opened in New York’s East Village in 2016. Liora and Double Zero will occupy two adjacent rooms at 414 Light Street.

Matthew Kenney’s vegan empire

This newest company is one of many for Kenney, who operates more than 40 plant-based restaurants, chains, and concepts around the world. This year alone, Kenney has already expanded his vegan empire with several new openings.

In February, the head chef opened the CASSE-COU Chocolaterie, a vegan chocolate shop in NYC and a digital marketplace. In March, Kenney opened Plant City X in Middletown, RI, bringing the Northeast’s first vegan drive through eatery. Earlier this month, VEG’D – another drive-through concept – replaced a shuttered Del Taco in Costa Mesa, CA.
